Cordmaster in ArborWax™ BlackRust Reverse Overdyed Black with Badalassi Minerva Oliva Sideflap.
The base leather comes from Arborwax™ BlackRust. The smooth side is black, but the flesh side is naturally light brown, what we usually call rust.
From this base, we flip the leather and overdye the reverse side using black dye. The idea is to create a tea-core kind of effect, but happening on the flesh side instead of the surface. Over time, with wear and movement, the rust tone will slowly come back and show through, just like what you see on this pair.
For the flap area, we combine it with Badalassi Minerva Oliva. That’s why we choose olive thread on the upper, to tie everything together and act as a subtle contrast, not loud, but still noticeable.
