Sagara - Belt Key Holder

An initiative from our workshop to reduce waste from production.
Made from Maryam Horsebutt Vachetta cutouts, using the same leather and the same hands that work on our hand-welted boots.

Leather is a natural material. It’s never perfect. Marks, loose grain, stains, burn/marks, uneven thickness, they’re part of the process. Some pieces are not right for boots because of structural reasons, but they’re still good leather.

For small leather goods, we can use them properly. That’s how this belt key holder started. The shape is inspired by the front view of an elephant. The small floral embossing is there to deal with marks in a simple, honest way, not to hide them.
